MathsMaxing provides mathematics tuition and educational services.

References in these terms to "MathsMaxing", "we", "us" or "our" refer to the MathsMaxing service operated by Sammy Beasley.

You may use the MathsMaxing website for lawful personal and educational purposes.

You must not attempt to interfere with the website's operation, bypass access controls, misuse another person's account or use the website in a way that could damage MathsMaxing or other users.

Tuition is personalised to the individual student. The content, pace and teaching approach may therefore vary depending on the student's needs, goals and progress.

Before you book, we will confirm the tutor, session length, location or online format, times, frequency, total price including any applicable taxes, payment arrangements and any minimum commitment. We will provide these terms and your booking details in an email or another format you can save. A booking is agreed when you and MathsMaxing have both accepted its details.

Where tuition is booked for a student under 18, a parent or guardian must make the booking and is responsible for the agreed payments. MathsMaxing remains responsible for the tuition it agrees to provide, including when another tutor delivers it on our behalf. Any change to an agreed tutor will be discussed with you in advance.

Students are expected to attend agreed sessions on time and have any equipment or materials reasonably required for the lesson.

Session cancellations and rescheduling

If you need to cancel or reschedule a tuition session, you must give MathsMaxing or your assigned tutor at least 24 hours' notice before the scheduled start time. You can notify us by email or through the contact method agreed with your tutor. With at least 24 hours' notice, there is no cancellation or rescheduling charge; rearranged sessions are subject to availability. Any prepayment for a cancelled session will be refunded or, if you prefer, applied to a replacement session.

If you cancel or reschedule with less than 24 hours' notice, or do not attend an agreed session, the full agreed session fee will normally be charged. Any charge will be reduced to reflect costs saved or a replacement booking and will never exceed our actual net loss. We will take reasonable steps to reduce that loss and explain the charge on request. We will not charge twice for the same loss.

We may agree to waive or reduce a charge in exceptional circumstances, or accommodate a minor change to the session time, subject to tutor availability. Any exception must be agreed with MathsMaxing or your assigned tutor. An exception for one session does not change the policy for future sessions. Your statutory rights apply regardless of whether an exception is agreed.

This policy applies to all tuition sessions provided by MathsMaxing, whether delivered by Sammy Beasley or any other tutor working on behalf of MathsMaxing.

If MathsMaxing or your tutor cancels a session, you may choose a mutually agreed replacement or a refund for the session. We will not charge you a cancellation fee for a change we make. This policy does not limit your statutory cancellation rights below or your remedies if we fail to provide the agreed service.

For consumer tuition contracts agreed online, by telephone or away from our business premises, you normally have until 14 days after the day the contract is agreed to cancel without giving a reason. Tell us clearly, for example by emailing hello@mathsmaxing.com, before that period ends. The 24-hour session cancellation charge does not apply when you exercise this right.

We will start tuition during this period only at your express request, recorded in writing. If you then cancel, you pay only a proportionate amount for tuition already supplied, provided we gave you the required cancellation and payment information. The right ends early only when the entire contracted service is completed following your express request and acknowledgement that full completion ends the right.

Any refund due will be made within 14 days of your cancellation notice, using your original payment method unless you agree otherwise, without a refund fee. Missing cancellation information may extend the statutory cancellation period.

You can use the following email template to cancel, but any clear statement of your decision is sufficient:

MathsMaxing aims to provide high-quality teaching and support, but examination grades, school admissions and other educational outcomes cannot be guaranteed.

Outcomes depend on many factors, including the student's prior knowledge, attendance, independent work, examination performance and circumstances outside MathsMaxing's control.

Where an account is required, you are responsible for providing accurate information and keeping your login credentials secure.

Account access is personal and should not be shared in a way that allows another person to bypass access restrictions or payment requirements.

MathsMaxing may restrict or suspend access where there is reasonable evidence of misuse, fraud, security risk or a serious breach of these terms.

Any restriction will be proportionate. Where reasonable, we will explain the reason and give you an opportunity to resolve the issue; urgent action may be needed to protect others or the service. Contact us if you believe a restriction is mistaken. Suspension does not automatically forfeit payments for services that have not been supplied or remove your refund rights.

Prices and payment requirements applicable to a service will be communicated before you agree to purchase it.

Refund eligibility depends on the type of service or content, the circumstances of the purchase and your applicable statutory rights.

We must provide tuition with reasonable care and skill and in accordance with the information about the service you relied on when booking. If we fail to do so, you may be entitled to have the service performed again at no extra cost or to an appropriate price reduction, which may be a full refund. Any repeat performance must be within a reasonable time and without significant inconvenience. Other legal remedies remain available.

These terms do not restrict rights or remedies that consumers have under applicable law and which cannot lawfully be excluded.

Unless otherwise stated, the website, teaching materials, worksheets, explanations, branding and other original MathsMaxing content are protected by applicable intellectual-property rights.

Permission to use MathsMaxing material for your own learning does not transfer ownership of those rights.

We may update the website as it develops. This does not give us the right to remove services you have already paid for or change an agreed booking without your agreement. If we cannot provide an agreed service, we will contact you to arrange an acceptable alternative or refund the part we cannot provide.

We aim to maintain reliable access but cannot guarantee that the website or every online service will always be available without interruption.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. This includes your statutory rights in relation to our services and any paid digital content.

We are responsible for foreseeable loss or damage caused by our breach of contract or failure to use reasonable care and skill, including when a tutor acts on our behalf. Loss is foreseeable if it is an obvious consequence or was something both parties could reasonably anticipate when the contract was agreed.

If events outside our reasonable control interrupt tuition, we will let you know as soon as reasonably possible and take reasonable steps to reduce the disruption. You will not be required to pay for tuition we cannot provide; any alternative session must be agreed with you.

We may update these terms for future bookings as our services develop or legal requirements change. The version supplied when you book applies to that booking. Publishing a new version does not by itself change an existing contract; changes to an existing agreement require your agreement unless required by law.

The current version will be published on this page with an updated revision date where appropriate.

This process does not limit your legal rights or your ability to seek independent advice or bring a claim.
