My story
Finding Maths changed everything.
I didn't always love maths. For a long time, I could get bored with the way it was presented at school. However, during lockdown, I started exploring mathematics well beyond my school's curriculum and absolutely fell in love with it.
Mathematics is the incredible culmination of thousands of years of human knowledge, spanning across civilisations. All that work has gone into building us a language that allows us to understand the world in a way that no other subject can. At its heart, mathematics challenges us to think deeply and creatively and rewards us with an immense sense of accomplishment when we solve a difficult problem.
In our modern world, mathematics is ubiquitous. It sits behind physics, biology, music, architecture, chemistry, engineering, art, economics, finance, computing, AI, statistics and countless other fields. Becoming confident in mathematics is one of the best ways to keep doors open and stand out.
What I find most rewarding is seeing the change in a student's confidence after understanding a concept they previously found impossibly difficult. I have had a 100% pass rate with students I have prepared for examinations and have seen students achieve results well beyond the grades they originally thought possible.
I teach my sessions in English, but have also learnt Spanish and am currently learning Italian.

MATHEMATICS BEYOND THE CLASSROOM
Students learn from someone who is actively doing mathematics.
Alongside tutoring, I currently work as an independent researcher in quantum computing. I am working alongside Professor Ashley Montanaro, Professor of Quantum Computing at the University of Bristol and Co-Founder and CEO of Phasecraft, on research into quantum algorithms for the graph isomorphism problem.
My research involves advanced mathematics, quantum computing and algorithm design. This gives me a deep and constantly developing understanding of mathematics far beyond the school curriculum.
I believe that this depth of understanding makes a real difference when teaching. I am not simply teaching procedures from a textbook; I genuinely understand the mathematics behind the ideas I teach.
